Thematic Areas
The topics presented below are intended to guide job applicants. Any other topic not listed will be accepted if it refers to socio-environmental management in companies.
Agribusiness and Sustainability
In the last decades, the exponential demographic growth, the urbanization process in several countries and the increase in income provided the main bases for the heating of the demand for food. As a result of this process, agribusiness began to occupy a significantly larger area and account for an important portion of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of municipalities, regions, states and food-producing countries. On the other hand, the environmental impacts have intensified, whether by modifying the vegetation cover, the soil, the hydrological system, the physical-chemical environment (by pesticides), the modification of biodiversity, or even the inadequate disposal of effluents from the system. productive. Thus, the current situation requires the search for balance and the implementation of economically viable, socially fair and environmentally correct production systems. Understanding in depth all the interfaces of this complex world is fundamental for the advancement of science. Therefore, this new thematic area of ENGEMA aims to provide an opportunity for academics, researchers and professionals to expose their research and cases, especially the relationships between competitiveness, development, management, bioeconomy and sustainability in agribusiness.

Spirituality in Organizations
This emerging theme is related to the search for connection with external aspects, expanding individual and collective consciousness to recognize the capacity for mutual influence between immanent and transcendent aspects, where we perceive ourselves as part of a whole greater than ourselves, acting in a different way. in order to positively impact the whole, also being impacted by it. In this way, spirituality and sustainability are directly related, because when we encourage studies and practices of spirituality in organizations, we generate potential for organizations to be more sustainable. Divisions of this theme are related to spiritual leadership, spirituality and regenerative economy, well-being and quality of life, sense of purpose and meaning at work, among others.

Teaching Cases and Research Methods in Sustainability
The Teaching Case modality involves the narrative of an organizational problem-situation related to the theme of sustainability that comprises a dilemma to be analyzed in the context of undergraduate or graduate education. The case should illustrate a previously studied theory or introduce new knowledge. Through the analysis and decision-making process for the solution of an organizational problem, the case should generate opportunities for theoretical and practical learning. It may involve evaluating or revising policies, practices or proposals. The Research Methods modality refers to innovative, recent or non-traditional methodological approaches that enable advances in qualitative or quantitative research methodologies in sustainability studies. Papers should focus on the description of the methodology, on the research process or on the critical analysis of relevant methodological aspects, and not on the presentation of empirical results.
